    The SES use the Government Radio Network to comminicate from radio to radio. This form of communication is used between units, vehicles, floodboats and field teams. The GRN has Taskforce channels for large operations, Liason Channels for communication between other emergency services and simplex channels to talk between teams.

    Kogarah operates on S*174-SS-TAC4.

  • Forward Command  ( 1 item )
    The SES may need to set up a mobile command post. It can be set up in a remote location to allow Forward command to be near to the incident to better manage it. It can be set up in a Hall, Empty room, back of a car or the some units have purpose built vehicles. Kogarah is lucky to have neighbouring unit Sutherland with a purpose built Forward command vehicle. It is a 4WD Mitsubishi Canter with 3 radio consoles. It is fitted with 2 x GRN, 1 x Rural Fire Service, Council and Police Radios. It is also equiped with a CDMA mobile phone, landline and Fax capabilities.
  • Portable Repeaters  ( 1 item )
    The SES have these puspose built trailers kitted with UHF repeater, GRN link, Battery and Generator and 30ft pneumatic mast. It can be delivered and installed anywhere communications is required.
